Supplying artwork
Print Directions can create your artwork but if you are supplying your own, here are some tips to make sure that your printing job goes without a hitch:
You can supply artwork to us in all of the usual ways:
- Email: info@printdirections.co.uk (up to 20MB zip files)
- FTP file transfer: http://ftp.thepdgroup.com/uploads/ (there are no user names or passwords)
- Supplied by disk or memory stick
When supplying artwork via FTP , please collate all files into one folder and 'zip' compress. Keep all file names down to a minimum and use underscores instead of spaces.
Print Directions prefer high resolution, print-ready PDF files with trims & full bleed (with all fonts embedded), we can also receive artwork created in InDesign CS or Quark Xpress (please ensure that all necessary images, files and fonts are included when supplying jobs in these programs).
Sorry, we cannot accept artwork in CorelDraw, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint or Publisher.
When supplying CMYK (4 colour process) artwork to Print Directions, please ensure all colour references and images/pictures are set to CMYK. Please do not include Pantone (spot colour) or RGB colour references within the artwork.
Any cutter guides (die-cuts) or special print finishes used in the artwork must be clearly listed and detailed on a separate layer contained within the artwork or on a separate file supplied.
Colour specification, text trapping and overprinting issues remain the sole responsibility of the client/company supplying the files. Print Directions cannot be held responsible for any incorrectly supplied artwork/files. We strongly advise running pre-press colour proofs before printing any 4 colour process (CMYK ) job.
